One of Barnsley’s most popular blues and folk musicians, Richard Kitson, has just launched a crowdfunding campaign. The campaign will hopefully raise enough funds to kickstart the release of his next album, Hermit Hill.
A minimum pledge of £10 will get you a signed copy of the album on its completion. However, if you are feeling generous, there are also opportunities for people to pledge more money with a series of additional rewards, including limited edition artwork from his single Bicycle Man, signed copies of his previous album Home and Dry and even the chance to have Richard play a private gig in your home. He hopes to raise his target of £2500 through people’s pledges.
Of the project, Richard says ‘as an independent artist of over ten years I am reliant on my fans to support me by attending gigs and purchasing my music. This gives me an opportunity to connect with the people who enjoy and support my music and this Crowdfunder project is a great way for my fans to do just that by enabling me to make a new album supported uniquely by them with exclusive rewards. Remember your pledge will only take effect of I achieve 100% of my £2500 target to fund the project so tell all of your friends and help me make Hermit Hill a reality.
Hermitt Hill will feature ten new songs, including his last single Bicycle Man, available for the first time on CD. The album will also feature exclusive artwork by the brilliant Becky Adams, a book and textile artist based in Wales. Richard has also produced a range of watercolours which will feature alongside Becky’s work. If you would like to know more about the project or simply pledge, then hit the Crowdfunder tab below.
