MUSIC NEWS: LIVE IN BARNSLEY 2014 IS GO! (UPDATE)

LIB
Other than the announcement that Live In Barnsley 2014 is actually going ahead next June, today the LIB team made their first announcement proper relating to next year’s bigger, better festival.
We can officially be the first outlet to tell you that an agreement is in place with a large town centre venue to include a new stage for classical music, brass bands, orchestras, string quartets, jazz bands, experimental, soloists etc.
LiB organiser Dave Pearsal says, ‘We have said many times that we want to encompass all genres of music and we are really pleased that in 2014 the list of genres will grow significantly. We can now put on large brass bands or even orchestras. Details of the venue will be released in the new year, but for now its over to you guys again.’ And you if you are in a big jazz or brass band, or maybe play as part of an orhcestra, that complete the online application form at www.liveinbarnsley.co.uk.

Keep up to date with previous Live In Barnsley announcements below, but definitely go and follow them on facebook to be even more up to date than me.

LIB ANNOUNCEMENT 23/09/13
It’s been just four months since the debut Live in Barnsley urban music festival. Summer has gone and it already seems ages ago. However, just yesterday evening, one of the festival organisers John Backhouse announced the date for the next one.
Live in Barnsley 2013 took place over eleven town centre venues and saw nearly 100 bands take the stage to entertain over 3000 music lovers. Considering that LIB was Dave Pearsall, Steve Clifford and John Backhouse’s first attempt at putting of a festival, it was hailed a massive success by all. 2014 can only be improved upon.
This week also saw Live in Barnsley nominated for a Pride of Barnsley award for their efforts in putting on the event and bringing attention to both Barnsley town centre and its talents.

And so I am happy to announce that the second Live In Barnsley festival will take place on Saturday 21st June 2014 and bands and solo performers can now apply via the following link. http://www.liveinbarnsley.co.uk/application.asp
