ALTERNATIVE BARNSLEY GIG #2: SERVERS ALBUM LAUNCH SHOW

serversbanner Local arts and music website Alternative Barnsley launch their second concert of the year with an album launch show at The Polish Club for Barnsley rock band Servers on Saturday 22nd February. With an album that has already been described as ‘an early contender for best British record of 2014’, the band are currently taking the UK by storm, having already featured in a number of international music magazines this month. Metal Hammer magazine said they had ‘a devilishly potent record that will reward you’, while Rock Sound magazine described them as ‘the relentless pulse of dark-hearted rock n roll’.

Servers were formed last year by local musician Lee Storrar. Lee has been an integral part of Barnsley’s live music scene since the 90s; fronting popular bands such as Sunlounger and most recently, G.U. Medicine. His bands have graced the pages of Kerrang and Metal Hammer, have recorded sessions for Radio One and toured with the likes of The Wildhearts, My Ruin, and Skid Row.
Lee Storrar said ‘I’m not only excited to launch our album but also to play our debut gig in our hometown at The Polish Club. This gig will also act as a tribute to one of my best friends Pete Williams. He drummed with me for many years and next month will be five years since he passed away. This album is definitely dedicated to him.’
Servers will be supported by two brilliant local rock acts; the fantastic singer songwriter Lauren Tate and local favourites Black Vines, who will be launching their new single on the same evening.
