Black Vines have just announced half of the line-up for their Coalfields ‘Alt Stage’, but are still on the lookout for some funk, some blues and some tripped out vibes.
Their line-up currently features Brighton based Black Rooster / Black Shag who share a love of garage rock, 50’s harmonies and post-punk and are influences by Pixies, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Tom Waits, Sonic Youth, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and The Dead Weather.
The line-up also features the steam powered punk rock of The King Bains, and sets from Barnsley’s Lauren Tate, Demographic and Mr Del Scott Miller.

The Coalfields Festival announced their 2014 date of July 26th back in January, but all has been on the news front since.SKREAMER LIVE / http://www.madhouseheaven.com
Until now, Noize Assault, the promoter behind the festival’s metal stage have announced their first batch of confirmed acts.
Headlining the Noize Assault stage will be London metal act, SKREAMER.
Hannah Eatwell, the stage manager and person behind Noize Assault say, “i saw their gig at The Borderline, London in 2012. It was a special one for me… and a great experience. Fans travelled from all over the country, also Holland, Belgium and other countries too for that gig. So much energy. I’ve booked Skreamer to headline as they are a young and talented band who in the last year have gone from being almost unknown in the north, to being one of the most in demand. They are a hard-working band who give 110% in their performances and writing.”Also confirmed are SPIRYTUS, DEFORMATION OF MAN, BOYCOTT THE BAPTIST and new Barnsley hard rock/grunge band ANACONDA VICE.
All applications for the Coalfields Metal/Noize Assault stage should be sent to noizeassault@hotmail.com
We can also announce that for the second year running, Black Vines will be hosting their own ‘alt’ stage, which will feature all manner of alternative music, from folk, blues, rock, soul, punk and more. Applications for this stage should be made to blackvinesmusic@live.co.uk
The Vines say, “We are looking for something a bit different as we have been inundated with guitar bands – which in itself is great, however the festival also has a Metal Stage, Indie Stage, Acoustic Stage, and Big Cheesey Stage.
We are the ALT stage not just as in alternative music, but an alternative to the other stages. We want a much more fringe based atmosphere. We want some Beats, some Trip-Hop grooves, Some Soul some Funk… Come on people – Variety is the Spice of Life!”Hit them up.
