Barnsley’s very own independent record shop, Debut Records, launches two new in-store events this coming October.
The first is Penny Arcade, an alternative evening of music and performance, brought to you by Del Scott Miller, Nikki Bywater, Lauren Conway and of course, Debut Records. Inspired by the chill-out areas of the more welcoming summer festivals, Penny Arcade invites you to plop yourselves down among candles, incense and bespoke furniture and allow the finest exponents of acoustic music and spoken word to aid the digestion of homemade cakes, teas, coffees and other cheeky, soothing treats, all lovingly prepared by the unrivalled Nikki ‘Mrs. B’ Bywater.
Given the venue, patrons are more than welcome to bring their own drinks. The event will start as soon an official business hours are over, but of course, the tills will be on all night, should you wish to make a nocturnal purchase. The first act will be on around 8pm.
The performances on the first event will be from the outstanding Lauren Conway, local poet laureate Stephen ‘Dollar’ Dalton and the incomparable Laura Kelly.
