Last year’s festival was a fantastic success and saw over 8,000 music lovers pass through its gates. It seems that the event could do great things for the local visitor economy. Festival organiser, Joe Rusby said, ‘there were a lot of locals but judging by the campsite there were definitely plenty that travelled from all round the country too. I know we had people travel from all over Ireland and quite a few from Europe as well as a few who made it into a holiday and travelled from the US, mainly because [Saturday’s headliner] Kate Rusby does not tour over there.’

The seven acts announced this week, join Eddi Reader, Cry Baby Cry, Electric Swing Circus, Hope & Social, The Flatville Aces, Galleon Blast and Bruce Molsky.
Underneath the Stars Festival will take place 24th – 26th July, 2015 at Cannon Hall Farm, Barnsley.
