There are two big benefit concerts taking place in Barnsley of February 28th. You’ll find in depth information about one of them HERE. The second is a two stage one day festival in Dodworth, which will raise money for a local boxer, Lee Noble.
Twelve hours of live music will be spread across two venues; Dodworth Working Mens Club and The Station Inn, and will feature seventeen acts.
Organiser and local musician Chris Thawley (The Hearts, Invisible Grease) said, ” this is all in aid of local boxer and friend of mine Lee Noble who has recently been diagnosed with Leukemia. All proceeds will be split between Lee himself, to help in his recovery, and the hospital ward that is treating him and Leukemia research. Basically, we have twelve hours of live music running from midday to midnight, and as well as the music, a few well known boxers including Kel Brook will also be in attendance signing autographs. We will have a raffle and auction at 9pm with prizes from the usual bottle of whisky right up to a week holiday for two. Entry is free for both venues and we will be collecting donations on the door and throughout the day. Food will also be available.
