Four Authors are a new Pop Rock band made up of ex Hitomi members and the team which make up Barnsley companies Big Sky Records Ltd and Liam Linley Music Tuition Ltd. All the members currently teach music or produce records through their roles in these companies.
In February 2015, the band officially launched with the release of their debut single, ‘Follow You’, which was produced at Barnsley studio, Big Sky Records by band member, Josh. The accompanying video was directed by the drummer, Jake.
Giving their single away on a ‘pay what you want’ basis via their website the track has been downloaded all across the UK and even as far as New York and Minnesota, America. Local stations Penistone FM, Dearne FM, Rother FM, Trax FM and BBC Sheffield’s introducing show have already played the single on air.
The band are now planning the release of their debut album, which will be released in two, five track parts, Chapter One and Chapter Two (Chapter One released on 10th April 2015).
In keeping with the bands DIY work ethic, everything is done in house. All the band members collectively write the music, Josh records the songs, Jake films and edits the music videos, Liam built the website and does some aspects of the video side and photo editing and Andy books gigs and manages the band.
Having only been on the map for under 4 weeks and with only one song available to listen to, the band have confirmed three separate slots at the Tramlines Festival, as well as a support slot on the main stage at the O2 Academy Sheffield.
Four weeks ago, the band released a video to accompany their single ‘Follow You’, which has already amassed nearly 1500 views.
