I’ve never reviewed one of the gigs that I have organised or put on myself. It would be a bit lame of me to give nothing but praise for my own event. However, at my gigs you’ll often see local photographers leaning over The Polish Club crash barrier or sitting in the pit. This last Friday was no exception, when I invited a number of local and regional punk acts to play. They were Louise Distras from Wakefield; from Barnsley, The Hurriers, Cambodia and poet Dollar Is Clinically Insane. And although Bruce Tality had to cancel last minute, Louise’s tour partner Robert Sharp kindly stepped in at the eleventh hour. It was a fantastic turnout – one definitely worthy of the talent on display. But enough from me. I’ll let those photographers show you how the night looked.

Sally Lomas considers herself an amateur photography, just it’s her talent and passion for our local music scene that makes her work loved by many. And the local saying is ‘if Sally’s there, then you know you’ve got a gig’.
