Kate Rusby and her family-run label Pure Records have just announced a brand new Barnsley music festival, to take place between 25th – 27th July. The festival is a collaboration with and will take place at Cannon Hall Farm at Cawthorne.

Underneath the Stars Festival is a fresh new summer festival of music, arts and food. It is a collaboration between Barnsley folk singer-songwriter Kate Rusby, her family production team and one of the finest Yorkshire visitor attractions and quality food producer Cannon Hall Open Farm run by the Nicholson Family.
The idea stems from a series of concerts held on previous years at the farm to raise funds for local projects such as the village Cricket Club, Church and Preschool. Now the aim is to develop those concerts into a weekend of world class entertainment in the heart of South Yorkshire, held in a purpose built big-top concert marquee and for the first time this year there will be the opportunity to pitch up and stay at the festival campsite.
As well as headliner Kate, a couple of other Barnsley acts have been announced in the influencial and much loved Dave Burland and comedy folk band The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican.
